Innovative Chamber Music Concerts

The Chrysalis Chamber Players will program a series of unique chamber music concerts around Miami-Dade county that are free of charge and accessible to all audiences, especially people who have never attended a classical music concert.

Who are you?

The Chrysalis Chamber Players are a non-profit chamber music group with musicians local to south Florida. Our core members reside in three counties in South Florida and hope to expand our reach in Miami.

How does this project impact the issue you selected?

We have already had successful performances for audiences in Collier County, and we are confident that our unique combination of instruments will attract audience members who are new to classical music performances. We have also had successful educational outreach programs in schools in Collier County, and hope to do the same in Miami.

What data points from The Our Miami Report does your project address?
  1. Providing residents with an environment rich in arts and cultural opportunities by programming unique concerts featuring works not often performed. Our unique combination of flute, trumpet, violin and piano will be accessible to all audiences.
  2. Miami-Dade county will support a thriving creative arts community by creating performance opportunities for our musicians residing in Miami. We will also inspire the next generation of musicians by organizing educational outreach programs.
Please give examples of your project's success.

The Chrysalis Chamber Players is now in its fourth season of successful concerts in Naples, Bonita, Fort Myers and West Palm Beach. Our concerts have reached audience members who had not previously attended classical chamber music concerts, and who continue to come to our concerts. We were also the recipient of a Yale Alumni Foundation Grant which allowed us to organize an educational residency in a Collier County public school, where we taught and performed with middle school music students.
