O Cinema Miami Beach

Opening in November 2014, O Cinema Miami Beach brings art cinema to the North Beach area for the first time at our new location in the historic Byron Carlisle Theater on Miami Beach's 71st Street. We aim to build on the community’s unique mix of cultures by programming outstanding films and film-related events that appeal to both residents and visitors, establishing 71st Street as a cultural destination. O Cinema Miami Beach brings cultural programming in a continuous 7-day a week, year-round schedule to the neighborhood, something that hasn't occurred for nearly two decades, and greatly increases access to art cinema for all Miami residents.

Alongside a regular lineup of first-run independent films, O Cinema Miami Beach will present monthly 'Family Film Matinees' at reduced admission, retrospective screenings of classic film paired with lectures, and on-screen presentations of the world's leading performances: simulcasts from the Royal Opera and Royal Ballet from London, as well as the only South Florida presentation of Shakespeare at the Globe, the celebrated contemporary productions of the Bard’s work via satellite from the theater company he founded.
