How does this project impact the issue you selected?

The proposed sea turtle education will promote the understanding of the biology, health, life history, and habitat needs of Florida’s marine turtles and the protection and conservation of these species among our community’s youth via multi-media presentations and innovative hands-on activities.

What data points from The Our Miami Report does your project address?

Environment & Public Space: Environmental Sustainability is crucial to the long-term feasibility of urban development, especially in coastal communities such as Miami. By Teaching Youth about the wild coastal species they are able to learn conservation through their compassion for animals.

Project staff documented that last year’s outreach was given to 1,400 students at forty-three different title one schools.
